Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to provide our services:

• Email address — provided when you purchase a license. Used to deliver your license key and for purchase-related communication.
• Machine identifier — a hardware-derived ID sent during license activation. Used to enforce the limit of up to 3 devices per license. We do not store the device's host name in readable form, only as an irreversible (hashed) value.
• License validation — the app periodically checks the validity of your purchased license with our server (we record the time of the last check). This is necessary to perform the license agreement and to prevent abuse (unauthorized use).
• IP address and geolocation — collected when you download the app, for download analytics (country-level) and to determine applicable VAT rates. The raw IP address is kept for at most 90 days, then converted into anonymous, country-level aggregates and the raw data is deleted.
• Admin session cookie — a functional cookie set only for site administrators. Not used for regular visitors.

Legal Basis for Processing

We process license data (email, machine identifier) to perform the license agreement with you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). License validation, abuse prevention and trial-usage measurement are carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)); you may object to these as described under "Your Rights" (and trial statistics can be turned off).

Trial Usage Analytics

While you evaluate AppCommander (before activating a license), the app sends a pseudonymous device identifier and your trial start and usage days to appcommander.pro so we can measure how the free trial is used and protect trial integrity. This is the same device identifier used for license activation; it is not linked to your name or email unless and until you purchase a license. We do not collect your hostname, your files, or any personal content, and we use no third-party trackers. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). You can object at any time by turning off “Share anonymous trial usage” in Preferences ▸ License; the app keeps working either way, including after the trial ends. Raw trial records are deleted after 90 days, after which only anonymous aggregate statistics remain. Licensed installations do not send this telemetry.

Data Processors

We share data with the following third-party processors, solely to provide our services:

• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe handles your payment details directly; we never see or store your card information.
• Microsoft Graph — email delivery. Used to send license keys and transactional emails via Office 365.

No Analytics or Tracking

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking or analytics service, and we do not build user profiles. There are no advertising cookies or tracking scripts. The license validation required to run the app is separate from this and minimal, and we retain only anonymous, aggregated statistics from it.

Cookies

This website uses only functional cookies. The admin session cookie is used solely for site administration. Regular visitors do not receive any cookies. The cookie notice preference is stored in your browser's localStorage, not as a cookie.

Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of your personal data
• Rectification — correct inaccurate personal data
• Erasure — request deletion of your personal data
• Data portability — receive your data in a structured format
• Objection — object to data processing

Data Retention

License and purchase records are retained for the duration of the license validity plus any legally required period (typically 8 years for accounting purposes under Hungarian law). Raw (identifiable) data in download and usage logs is kept for at most 90 days, then converted into irreversible, anonymous, aggregated statistics; once anonymized, this is no longer personal data. You may request deletion of your data at any time.
